Who is IOSH?
IOSH is Europe’s leading body for health and safety professionals. IOSH is the conduit for knowledge, opinion and research on many important matters affecting the health and safety profession, and is often consulted by international governments for members’ views on draft legislation, codes of practice and other government initiatives. IOSH is well placed to represent its members’ interests in the global workplace and to promote standards of best practice in the profession.
WorkSafeBC is an independent agency governed by a Board of Directors appointed by government. The mandate of WorkSafeBC, in concert with workers and employers, is to:
- Promote the prevention of workplace injury, illness, and disease
- Rehabilitate those who are injured and provide timely return to work
- Provide fair compensation to replace workers’ loss of wages while recovering from injuries
- Ensure sound financial management for a viable workers’ compensation system
