Driver Training
Ravenhill offers a number of services to complement our clients’ Land TransportManagement Systems.
We can provide:
- Vehicle pre-project inspection service,and annual renewal with auditable certification and inspection reporting
- Driver training and evaluation with auditable driver training and certification program
- Road/Route Hazard Assessment Reports
- Training and assistance in implementation of Journey Management System
Driver Training (Urban)
This training program is based on Oil and Gas Producers (OGP *Land transportation safety recommended practice*) 365. The training will build on existing skills of the drivers using a compliant system of vehicle control, identify any gaps between client driving standards and those recommended under OGP 365, and provide an auditable training and evaluation record for drivers.
This training can be provided across the spectrum of light through to heavy vehicles.
At minimum, drivers will cover areas such as:
- Review company policies and standards for driving
- Review of defensive driving techniques
- Familiarization with journey management procedures
- Alertness and fatigue management
- Effects of medication and substance abuse
- Vehicle restraint and safety equipment
- Pre-trip checks and seating position
- Local driving hazards – regulations and culture
- Commentary drive
- Assessment of driving skills and behaviour
- Emergency and common maintenance procedures
Courses
Courses are conducted in either French or English. The course format is orientated around an initial individual driver assessment, one full day of classroom work, individual practical training, classroom exam, and commentary drive / practical driver assessment (final driver evaluation).
